After spending the past several months in Mexico without any other missionaries, it was great to have community. There were 14 adult Mountain Gateway missionaries in total in Nicaragua with us. It was great to have this community. We spent time praying and worshiping the Lord together. We also had team nights of coming together, eating a meal, and having fun. All in all, it was a great time of bonding and creating unity.

Two of the other families here in Nicaragua with us are going to be joining us in Mexico later this year. (The Skaggs and the Anguianos). The time here in Nicaragua has been a great time to unite as a “Mexico team”. We were able to create a lot of  relationship equity with one another before working along side of each other in Mexico in just a few months.

Here are some of the other things we did…

4 people saved
We traveled to a town by the coast that was around an 8 hour drive. In this town there is a national pastor who is now working with Mountain Gateway. Jeff was invited to speak at the Sunday service at this church. 4 people responded to his alter call, came forward, and accepted Jesus!! 3 of these 4 people have been addicted to drugs and/or alcohol and are working with another national leader who is helping them rehabilitate.

We went and preached at different communities that the team in Nicaragua have been continually discipling. Jeff and Mary Beth both were able to preach. (pictured: Mary Beth preaching)
Leadership Class
We attended leadership classes 2-3 times a week. These were very beneficial and will help equip us to be better leaders in the future.
Coffee Farm
We spent part of our time working on the coffee farm that Mountain Gateway owns. One day we had to move a tree and boulders in order to create a road so that materials can be transported to a certain part of the farm (pictured).
